Parasympathetic nervous system is pivotal to recovery; it is what keeps us at rest.
Often times the body is regulates this naturally and we are able to access this state regularly and without force; however, is there has been prolonged stress or any recent trauma parasympathetic system needs some help.
When we are in chronic stress or experiences a traumatic event, we are in the sympathetic system which is the fight or flight response. Its true that we need this response to get things done and to keep us safe however sometimes the mind need a bit of help to go back to the homeostasis state which I call the balance zone.
When the cells in the body do not work correctly, homeostatic balance is disrupted; the easiest way to access the homeostasis is through conscious breathing, that mind body connection is needed to regulate the response in your gut and mind.
Natural ways to activate this state is to regularly involve your body either through massage therapy, breath work or mediation. All of these components will help you to feel better.
It is important to lower your stress levels, which means also being aware if what you eat and your sleeping cycles. Another great resource is to take CBD oil; At Be Well we carry Calyx CBD oil which will assist with sleep but most of all will help to heal the body from within.
CBD oil has been used to treat tumors, PTSD, sleeping issues, injuries and the list can go on. CBD, is safe and is without THC which means you will not get the “high feeling”.
We do hope this short Blog was helpful in starting your recovery.
